Tablets are used in virtually all areas of life. Even away from the "classic" industrial sectors such as the oil and gas or chemical industry, mining, etc., tablets can now be used by organizations and professional groups responsible for safety or rescue in emergencies: Police forces or fire departments.

The use of rugged and explosionproof tablets allows fire departments to plan and conduct operations more efficiently. With access to digital maps and GPS capabilities, the location of the incident can be quickly identified, and the best route planned. This saves valuable time and enables faster response in emergency situations.

In addition, important information such as building plans, hydrant locations, and hazardous materials information can be accessed directly on the tablet while still in the cab en route to the scene, which can facilitate on-site decision making. Other important information, such as video or imagery, vehicle plans and facility maps, can be shared in real time with other units at the scene or with the emergency operations center. This improves coordination and collaboration during the operation.

Another advantage of tablets is the ease of documenting operations. The ability to capture data on activities, observations, and actions in real time can allow for accurate and detailed reporting that can later be used for analysis, training, or legal purposes.

Outside of the field, tablets provide fire departments with easy access to a variety of important resources, such as manuals, instructions or training materials, to refresh knowledge or learn new techniques and procedures.
