During its development and certification process, our explosion-proof and world's first tablet for use in Zone 1/21 and Division 1 - the Tab-Ex® 01 - has gone through multiple tests guaranteeing proof of its durability and compliance with the ATEX, IECEx and CSA explosion protection standards. Apart from thermal load capacity tests, impact and serve capacity tests, the devices have also gone through explosion protection and ingress (solids and fluids) tests. All tests were each passed successively with the same device.
Toughness
Another challenge has been tested by the robust Tab-Ex® 01 DZ1: How would your 'rugged' tablet deal with being run over by a car? Our ecom Service Center received a rather unusual service request. Apparently one of our clients had accidentally run over one of their Tab-Ex® 01 DZ1 units with their car, as the tire marks showed. Although the tablet was still working smoothly besides the slightest traces of abrasion on the sides, the customer wanted to ensure whether it was still safe to use in a Zone 1 hazardous area.
Our Service and Repair Center accordingly checked the device thoroughly and confirmed to the customer that there is no compromise to the safety or operational integrity of the device and that the explosion protection of the device is still fully guaranteed. Only a few scratches on the case document the hard and involuntary test the Tab-Ex® had to endure. ecom does not compromise on safety, reliability and durability.
