No security update for Android™ 4.3

Google has recently announced that it will not be releasing any security updates for older versions of Android™. This affects devices up to version 4.3 Jelly Bean, which account for approximately 60% of all Android™ users.

The WebView function in Android™ OS is responsible for this vulnerability. Both the browser and many other apps use WebView to display web content on your mobile device.
To reduce the risk, you should switch to the latest version of web browsers such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, though this does not guarantee complete security. Experts advise users, in the long run, to purchase a new device. Care should be taken to ensure that the new device is running Android™ 4.4, KitKat or later.
