Push-To-Talk with Intrinsically-safe Devices from ecom

Previously equipped with paper, pen, radio, and mobile phone, the mobile worker now needs only one device to complete daily tasks in the field-an intrinsically-safe, rugged smartphone or tablet.

Can a device like this also replace a radio?

Yes, it can. The solution is called Push-To-Talk-over-Cellular (PTToC). The technology uses mobile networks instead of traditional local radio networks to enable real-time communication. All you need are a mobile device with a data SIM card and a server through which to communicate via IP connection.

Simply install a Push-To-Talk app on a smartphone or tablet, such as the Ex-Handy 10 and Smart-Ex® series. The PTT app is easy to use with the help of the device's touch screen and hardware buttons. Communication can be customized in additional ways using a headset or remote speaker microphone.

Communicate Worldwide

PTToC makes it possible to communicate with colleagues and experts worldwide. And if that is not enough, you can also set up a private LTE network. This makes PTToC a very attractive and cost-effective alternative to traditional PMR / LMR solutions.

ecom's intrinsically-safe and robust smartphones and tablets that use PTToC also support the mobile worker in other ways. They facilitate lone worker protection, navigation, video collaboration, and the sending of data and photos to enhance processes and keep workers safe.
