The Increasing Importance of 4G / LTE Connectivity

LTE, the fourth generation of mobile technology, delivers transfer rates of up to 300Mbit per second. Since it’s roll-out, this level of connectivity has been limited to larger cities but more recently, mobile network companies have been working to extend this out to cover much wider areas providing more comprehensive coverage.

Forecasts predict that in the next few years the global 4G data transfer network will increase in size by 23 times and will account for 81% of mobile traffic. The requirement for faster and more stable levels of connectivity is growing due to the demand of applications that rely on constantly transferring data. Many applications need to be able to communicate in real-time, therefore relying on a strong network connection that will remain intact while moving around between locations.

This increased reliance on strong and constant mobile connections has lead many industry experts to look towards using 4G / LTE enabled devices therefore removing any worries about using underpowered devices as the connectivity demands of powerful applications continue to grow.
