The experts of Operating Training Solutions (OTS) created a short video how to deal with different situations and scenarios in the field benefiting from state-of-the-art collaboration and communication using mobile devices. OTS trained operators at Huntsman, an international chemical company in the Netherlands.
Huntsman is using the intrinsically safe smartphone provided by ecom, the Smart-Ex® 01. Thereby they can perform a realistic training to see how the field operators and the control room are interacting and communicating with each other.
In case of an error the worker can take pictures and videos of the fault on the machines or plants, and send them immediately to the control room operator via wireless technologies, such as 4G / LTE or Wi-Fi. The expert can analyse the issue and can decide faster how to solve it. The control room operator gives instructions to the field worker via push-to-talk technology and can monitor the reparations that are made in the field.
