5G

5G (fifth generation) is a wireless standard that offers higher data transfer rates (up to 20 Gbps), lower latency (from less than a millisecond to a few milliseconds), greater network capacity, and higher reliability than previous wireless generations and its direct predecessor, 4G (LTE Advanced). The 5G wireless standard builds on its predecessor, 4G.

With 5G, more devices can be online at the same time. It also allows larger amounts of data to be transmitted in real time. It is expected that 5G will enable a wide range of new applications such as autonomous vehicles, augmented reality, virtual reality, telemedicine, smart cities, and many more.
