Professional Mobile Radio / Private Mobile Radio (PMR)

The terms Land Mobile Radio (LMR, used in the USA) and Professional Mobile Radio / Private Mobile Radio (PMR, used in the UK) refer to the use of analogue and digital mobile radio communications.

While PMR/LMR is mainly used by companies and businesses, it is also utilized by the fire department when there is a need to stay in contact with a central base station over a relatively short distance.
