WHAT ARE BEACONS?
Beacons are small wireless devices that emit signals using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Mobile apps on compatible devices are able to receive the signals from beacons placed in locations and then trigger an experience like sending a notification via the app.

Apps, which have the ability to be beacon powered, have minimal impact on the devices battery life. When configuring your Beacons, consider carefully your use case. The higher the power, the larger the beacon’s range and the more stable the signal but also shorten battery life.
No Internet connection required
Mobile apps can pick up beacon signals where a stable Internet connection is not available and store data locally on the device. When triggering content such as push notifications, Internet connection is required.
