To prevent explosions in hazardous areas and thus to ensure the safety of people, the environment and equipment, ecom develops and produces mobile devices with advanced and patented explosion protection - now for over 30 years.
It all started in 1986 as a three-man company and looks similar to a story from the Silicon Valley. The first devices were developed in the owners' basement from scratch with the aim to overcome many obstacles and bring a new range of high quality devices to market. Working all day and night on new instruments and calibrators, the first unit was introduced in 1990.
Since its founding, more than 30 years have passed and from the 3-man start-up, ecom has become an innovative and international company with more than 200 employees worldwide. It was the same then as it is now, ecom and their devices stand for high quality, safety and reliability and have become a decisive influence to the industry since the first day. Since 2010, ecom has been the world leader in mobile explosion-proof equipment and supplies customers in industries such as oil & gas, pharmaceutical, chemical, agricultural and mining industries.
