Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) refers to the ability to use private mobile devices within the corporate network. Corresponding company policies determine how the network can be used with the various devices.

One of the benefits of BYOD is that employees have a greater freedom of choice, and the personal needs of employees can be better taken into account. Disadvantages of BYOD, which should not be underestimated, include the security risk posed by the use of internal company data on external computers.
