Intermec Terminal Emulator

Overview

Intermec Terminal Emulator (ITE), part of Intermec Client Pack (ICP), is the next generation of Intermec's popular terminal emulation client designed for enterprise-level data collection. It provides a consistent user interface and a common menu structure (Intermec Settings) to simplify the use and management of applications running on Intermec mobile and wireless computers.

ITE is a proven terminal emulation client application for Intermec mobile devices. ITE improves productivity, reduces errors, and delivers fast return on investment. It supports multiple emulation protocols in a single client and has features such as session persistence, remote management and configuration and multiple security options. Intermec offers software maintenance plans to keep you up-to-date with the latest releases and upgrades.

Ease of Use

ITE provides terminal emulation for 3270, 5250 and VT/ANSI environments on Intermec mobile computers. The software provides a common menu structure and consistent user interface across the product line to simplify the use and management of applications. ITE also provides multiple session support so users can switch between up to four different sessions without having to log out and re-launch each application.

Session Persistence

Losing connection with the host application can occur when the wireless network is less than optimal. ITE works with Intermec's Session Persistence Server to provide wireless session persistence, preserving data and productivity when wireless connections are lost. Connections can be maintained with the host, even during long periods of being out of coverage or being suspended. Users save time because they are not required to re-login when the connection is resumed.

Remote Management and Configuration

Remote management and configuration are also available with ITE. ITE is integrated with Intermec SmartSystems™ client on the device to provide "no touch" configuration and updates of all ITE client devices from a single remote console. The external remote management tool can be the SmartSystems Foundation console or any of a number of third-party mobile device management systems. This reduces the burden on IT resources, and all but eliminates labor-intensive manual management of mobile equipment.
